Game Guide - COD4 Sniper mission on Veteran Difficulty
I know this is not our usual news story, but I spent a lot of time making this diagram for a friend, so I figured we’d post it here for any body who google’s it in the future.
Anyone who’s played Call of Duty 4, and tried to beat it on Veteran figures this (The Shot) could be the most difficult mission in the game. I died about 900 times until I figured this method out, so have a look at the attached image and see what you think. This is the instructions for the very end bit of the mission, when Capt. McMillan is injured, and you’re waiting at the LZ for the helicopter support to arrive.
Let us know what you think! Or your method for getting through it!

Not sure how your setup would go, too lazy to try, but i’ve found that if as you only really need to use one or two claymores throughout the mission before you reach the lz you should have about 8 or so left, if you place all these before you drop Capt. McMillan then you get ten more claymores on top of that, which you can also place around the lz. NOt sure if this works on verteran, but it works on the level below.

Interesting, I never used Claymores through the mission (except when prompted), and even at the end here they’re more for deterrents.
The only important ones are the ones to the left of you, the rest just wipe out the first few guys, you can’t rely on them for the full 5 minutes!
